England - 30/06/2011 - British based online PPI claims specialist \'Gladstone Brookes\' involves itself in a series of charitable activities.

When most people think of Gladstone Brookes, they think of the work that the company does with claims for compensation for mis-sold Payment Protection Insurance (PPI). Perhaps not quite as widely known, however, is that the firm also involves itself in a range of charitable activities, as part of its drive to give something back to the community.

Charitable activities that Gladstone Brookes has been involved with recently – or that it will be in the near future -

Everyman – Turn It Blue

On Friday 17th June the office helped to raise money for the Everyman charity, supporting the fight against testicular and prostate cancer, by wearing blue to work and making generous donations to the cause. This was all thanks to the work of Nicola Simpson, who also plans to continue her fundraising through a sponsored swim in the coming months.

Phil’s Great North Run and Heather’s Race For Life

Another charitable activity with which Gladstone Brookes will be involved will be the Great North Run in September. Staff member Phil will be running in the race for Crohns & Colitis UK. His periodically updated training statistics, including his distance ran, duration of training and average speed are already available to view on the firm’s website, as is a link to his donations page. In addition, Phil will be providing a weekly update on his training, including his feelings on the run, himself and anything else that is on his mind.

Finally, another charitable event in which a Gladstone Brookes employee has already recently been involved is the Race For Life, with Heather having ran 10k in just over an hour for Cancer Research UK, in the process raising £676 from Gladstone Brookes alone. Again, it is hoped that Heather will produce a blog about her experiences, including her motivation for fundraising, how her run went and what she felt that she had learned from the experience.

Gladstone hopes to continue to go from strength to strength in its charity drive, with an internal newsletter planned in order to keep employees updated and to encourage further fundraising.
